This research study aims at identifying the effectiveness of the rehabilitation package of the Danish Refugee Council (DRC) an International Humanitarian umbrella organization focusing on issues related to the cause of the refugees, migrants and internally displaced people (IDPs) and the life status of them. This research study analyses how far the rehabilitation packages introduced by DRC influencing on the enhancement of Life Status of refugees and IDPs. For this purpose there are three model villages (Where the IDPs and refugee are relocated and resettled) in Vavuniya District in Sri Lanka which have been receiving relieves from the DRC as sample, and 74 families (25% of the total population in each village) have been selected for this survey by using judgment sampling method. The research findings show that there are various infrastructure problems faced by the IDPs and all those problems have not been solved completely so far. However, the rehabilitation package of DRC remarkably handled those problems to give durable solutions for these people. Hence, these are not adequate to strengthen their lives and enhance the Life Status. According to the findings, approximately 76% of the IDPs are satisfied with DRC’s rehabilitation package. Therefore, the authors have a view that linkage between other organizations and post- visit counseling are major recommendations for DRC to improve its package and become in the second rank after UN agencies in enhancing the life status of IDPs and Refugees.en_US
